It would emphasize the importance of public health measures and provide an opportunity to recognize the efforts and contributions of front-line workers. The Day would remind Canadians every year of the importance of emergency preparedness and prevention and provide an opportunity for governments to reflect on lessons learned on its response and readiness efforts.
